"After spending many years of going from one dental practice to another I first met Sharif 20 years ago, I had finally found a dentist who made me feel at ease and who understood my fear. From the very first meeting with Sharif all those years ago I knew then I would never fear going to the dentist again and I looked forward to my appointments. This sounds very cheesy but he was my knight in shining armour but then one day Sharif told me he was leaving the practice to peruse his career, I was devastated. I did not have a car all those years ago so it was impossible to attend his new practice so my quest began yet again to find the perfect dentist. So 20 years have gone by and over this period of time the only time I have visited the dentist is when I have been in pain, so I have never built a relationship or a bond with any dentist and also I have never felt comfortable with anyone. Last year I got to a point where if I continued the way I was going I would have no teeth to salvage. I hated looking in the mirror and the way I looked, I celebrated a big birthday last year, turning 50 really affected me, wrinkles and no teeth! I decided to put my fear to one side and research a few local cosmetic practices, I had heard on the radio some time ago an advertisement for Rockingham House so I visited the website. The first thing I noticed was the photograph of the team. I looked closely and thought the gentleman in the photograph looks like Sharif , it can’t possibly be Sharif , the last time I saw him was 20 years ago he did not look any different , it can’t be him I kept telling myself. I made an appointment for a consultation, thinking to myself, if it’s not Sharif I will listen but never follow up the appointment. I was telling everyone at work about how I had hoped it was going to be him but we all agreed that it could not be him after all these years. Well imagine my surprise when I opened the door, yes it was Sharif, we both started to speak at the same time, it’s you we both said in harmony, he remembered me from all those years ago, although I have aged Sharif looks the same and the rest is history!! So so happy to be reunited after all these years, sounds like a love story.  

I had gum disease, crooked teeth, tooth decay; my front teeth crossed over, an ill-fitting bottom partial denture, the list goes on. If fact I would describe my teeth to a very run down house that needed demolishing , plus my biggest issue was my confidence and the way I looked when I did smile, which was not very often, I hated having my photo taken. Sharif put a plan together which included bridge work, veneers, whiting, extractions and fillings. At the first appointment I felt so embarrassed when I opened my month, I thought he was going to say there was no hope and that the remaining teeth would all have to be removed, I thought this was going to be the outcome.   

From Day one when I walked into Rockingham House I knew I had made the right choice, Everyone at the practice is so professional , friendly, warm and caring , I can’t praise them enough !  

Happy is not the word, I can’t put into words how I feel and how I look, over the last couple of days I have had comments from my friends and family like amazing, stunning, life changing but the best comment of all was from my husband who said Sharif was a genius and what a transformation, he also said I look 10 years younger. Wow what a result , I get very emotional every time I look in the mirror , I can’t believe it’s me , but it is and it’s a dream come true. "I first started going to Rockingham House dental practice in 2004, I was unhappy with the treatment I was receiving at my previous dentists and heard an advert on the radio for Rockingham House. I had already made an appointment to register as a new patient, when before my appointment was due I had an accident and broke one of my front teeth in half. In a total panic I rang Rockingham House, they gave me an emergency appointment with Meera Aggarwal and I was seen within the hour. Meera took impressions and temporarily fixed my broken tooth immediately and then crowned it two weeks later. The crown looked so real you would never have known it wasn't a real tooth.

Although I have always tried to look after my teeth I have always had problems with them and have been seen by many different dentists and can honestly say that Rockingham House is the best dental practice I have ever been to. "In June 2013 my crown and bridge across my 4 front teeth finally gave up the ghost and my dentist advised a partial denture. I had a temporary denture made and was due for the permanent denture to be started in November. I cannot explain the psychological effect wearing a denture had. I tried very hard but could not come to terms with removing my teeth to clean them and sleeping without teeth. It was absolutely dreadful.

My husband saw the Rockingham House advert in the Yorkshire Post and I arranged an initial appointment. I met with Dr Khan and he explained the implant procedure whereby he could give me a set of 10 top teeth. I knew as soon as I talked with him that I would trust this man and knew that I could totally rely on him to carry out the treatment necessary. I became quite emotional at the time; I was so relieved that I had found someone to help me. "On the recommendation of my dentist I had all the teeth in my upper jaw removed as he said I would have a problem in later life wearing false teeth if this was not done. Dentures were made and fitted by my dentist and I coped but was reluctant to ever leave them out even when sleeping.

Researching implants I visited a dentist on Harley Street London. Interviews, examination went ahead but after receiving exorbiant bills for even just consultations and an estimate of what implants would cost I could not go aheadwith having implants fitted at that practice.

My dentist recommended Rockingham House saying in his words if his mother needed implants hw would go there. The procedure was carefully explained, nothing was rushed and where it was thought a longer time was needed for a more satisfactory outcome such was the case.

The results of having the implants have been as follows:

1.The shape and structire of my upper jaw has been returned to normal.

2. I do not have to take my teeth out.

3. I can eat a wide variety of foods I could not manage with the dentures (Nuts etc.)

 "Rockingham House was recommended to me by a close friend who understood my dislike of going to the dentist but also my desire to correct some cosmetic problems with my teeth that I had had since childhood. It took me a while to pluck up the courage to change as going to the dentist has never been my great love. From the moment I set foot in Rockingham House I knew I would be well taken care of. "I had quite an unusual problem. My top front teeth were quite wonky and the two front teeth were very thin and slightly discoloured. They had become sensitive and painful at times. I had been advised by other dentists that I would firstly need a brace to straighten the teeth and then two veneers to improve the appearance of my two front teeth. I was told this would take years.

As soon as I walked into my consultation with Sharif and told him the problem he didn't give me that "this is a difficult problem to fix" look. He just said that he could make my teeth look beautiful. He explained he would whiten my teeth first of all and then place two veneers over my two front teeth. He said he would contour and shape a few of the top teeth and position the veneers so my teeth were straight. He told me I would need 4 appointments and I booked them all in that day. I could not believe that my teeth could look straight from veneers alone, and in 3 short months! Neither could my family!

As soon as I saw them I could see how much better they looked. They really are beautiful, white and straight! Throughout my treatment all the staffs were polite, caring and knowledgeable. I felt at ease every time Sharif worked on my teeth.

"My son was originally recommended to Rockingham House from his NHS dentist. His two middle top front teeth were badly decayed and all his top front teeth were embarrassingly small. We were immediately filled with confidence by Dr Sharif Khan's friendly, caring, calming manner. His obvious love for and dedication to, his work was immediately apparent. "For 20 years I suffered from repeated dental pain, loss and infection, including abscesses and bleeding gums. An ill-fitting mouth plate compounded my problems, resulting in problems eating and sores on the roof of my mouth. I’d received regular treatment but had lost faith in dentists. Then in early 2013 I read an article about Rockingham House in the Yorkshire Post and embarked on more research. I discovered the practice was well regarded and played an important role in training dentists.

After my initial consultation with Dr. Sharif Khan a personal treatment plan was drawn up that included All-on-4 implants and a crown in my upper jaw to replace the plate, and  composite fillings in my lower jaw. 

Throughout my care I’ve been treated with consideration and respect, being fully informed of the options and what was involved in each stage of treatment. All the staff are friendly, supportive and professional. I have never felt so at ease at in the dentist’s chair! The results are fantastic. My teeth feel and look good. "When I was 16 years old I broke my jaw in a motor bike accident. I swallowed one tooth, broke another front tooth and knocked the front bottom teeth out.
Over the years I gradually lost more teeth on the bottom and had a full lower denture. Each time a new denture was made I had problems with the fit and discomfort, and gradually lost bone.
Finally my dentist referred me, who made me some dentures. They were a better fit but usually became loose.
My dentist then suggested Mr Khan at Rockingham House. I had a consultation, examination and x-rays etc. Mr Khan suggested dental implants, done by keyhole surgery. Although it sounded like a good idea I had to give it some serious thought mainly because of the cost and partly because it was so daunting.
However, when I thought of the embarrassment of loose dentures, mouth ulcers, not being able to eat properly or chew my food, I had to admit Mr Khan was right. I turned up on the day having had a sedative and antibiotics. I had my temporary dentures fixed. I was shown how to clean them by the hygienist Debbie and after a few months was fitted with my permanent teeth.
I can't explain what a difference this has made to my life! I can eat with confidence, knowing that they will not move. This is the best decision I have ever made. I owe my thanks to Mr Khan. My own dentist said they looked "very nice" and he had done a great job. Now there's a compliment!"

"For as long as I can remember my teeth have not been great and over the years, my mouth just seemed to be full of fillings and crowns. My first visit to Dr Sharif Khan was in October 2006 and it was extremely friendly and informative and he was very honest about what the outcome could be for me. As time elapsed it was time for the CAT scan and that procedure was painless, but again I was coached through the process so I knew exactly what to expect. In February 2008 I had my dental implant. Again on the day the situation was explained and was therefore not intimidating at all, I had some lovely music to listen to throughout the procedure. I felt remarkably well after the treatment - I expected some bruising but I didn't. I received a follow - up call to check how I was and I actually asked if I could stop the medication as I felt it was unnecessary which proves how well I felt following the treatment. I then had my implant bridge fitted which immediately felt comfortable, I can't really explain how good it felt other than to say it belonged to me, my mouth felt so light, just absolutely marvellous really! My implant is part of me, not a fixture and I marvel each day I look at my teeth and I am so grateful to have been offered this treatment, I would not have had it any other way and comes highly recommended. If I had to have it done again, I can honestly say there is nothing I would change; it was just an amazing time for me."

"I'm slightly above 50 years of age, therefore I grew up locally in the late 60's and 70's, eating sweets was a big pastime and dental care was not high on anyone's agenda. The only nice teeth I remember seeing were owned by old people and were placed in a glass of water overnight, on the bedside cabinet, or in the drawer. By the time I was a teenager I had four slightly rotten front teeth, one of them had about a third chipped off. I had last visited a dentist when I was around 7yrs old. I didn't like the way he tried to prise open my mouth, so I bit his thumb and ran off.
At about 19yrs old I decided to have my teeth sorted and also needed several fillings, I had four nice shiny porcelain caps fitted to my front teeth. These served me well for many years. Eventually, one of them fell off and was replaced by my local dentist; it nearly matched colour wise and was almost straight. Then another one fell off. A couple of my work colleagues are patients of Dr Khan and they couldn't recommend him highly enough. I visited Dr Khan and found out for myself that he was in fact much nicer than he had been described. A gentleman of the highest order. My only regret from first meeting him was not taking his advice at that time. He 'temporarily' fixed my missing cap and explained his recommendation for the rest of my teeth. I liked the idea, but went away to ponder on it for quite some time. When I returned to see him, I had been suffering; I now needed two root canals amongst other work. I decided to follow Dr Khan's advice. I had my front caps replaced after all the other remedial work was done. OK, it’s not cheap, but who wants cheap when it comes to your teeth? I could have had a less expensive alternative, but I am so glad I didn't. If my story sounds familiar to you and maybe you’re undecided about treatment, all I can say is that I wish I had done it sooner. Nearly every time I meet new people and smile to say hello, I see them look at my teeth, it’s a great feeling to have a confident smile, you can't really put a price on that. As for the pain and dread of being in the dentist’s chair, don't worry. Dr Khan takes the best of care, I hardly felt anything. I look forward to my check-ups as it’s always a pleasure to see Dr Khan. The staff are absolutely great too, friendly, polite, welcoming, caring, I cannot recommend this practice enough."

"Just over 4 years ago I chipped my 2 front teeth quite severely, straight away I visited my own dentist whom told me that I needed to have quite extensive dental surgery to return these teeth to normal, not being satisfied with this I visited a second dentist whom told me exactly the same, having had the benefit of excellent teeth all my life I was not ready to have these either removed or severely ground away for implants.

Fortunately I remember reading an advertisement for Rockingham House Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry Ltd., and contacted this practice whom promptly gave me an appointment, upon examination Dr Khan told me that he could fix the problem without the necessary major surgery that was suggested by the other 2 dentists in Sheffield.

Dr Khan proceeded to repair the 2 front teeth with skill of the likes I am still amazed over 4 years later, how he did it I’m not sure but the colour and shape is exactly as my original teeth, almost a miracle as far as I’m concerned, no pain during and no pain afterwards, FANTASTIC.

I couldn't be happier with the results and have gone back to this practice for further work, and would HIGHLY recommend Rockingham House Dentistry, and have done so many times, although this practice is about 60 miles from my house it’s well worth the trip, in fact if it was 3 times this mileage I would still go to Dr Khan for my treatment.

As a footnote...I went back to my original dentist almost immediately after the treatment for an opinion, and was told that he could see the treatment and it was only a matter of time before they "popped off". He said, it’s not a case of "if" but "when" well, as I said that’s over 4 years ago and not the slightest sign of any problems and looks like they were done yesterday.

I had two front Crowns fitted a very long time ago to my front teeth, and finally decided I needed a new look, to close the gaps in my top teeth.  Upon my first visit to Rockingham House, I was greeted with a very friendly team of staff, and any fears or concerns that I may have had about my treatment were soon put aside by the care and professionalism of all staff, and everything was fully explained about what was going to happen at each stage of my treatment.  

I was recommended to have the front four top teeth replaced by Veneers, to close the gaps up and have the bottom teeth filed so that they were straight.  I also had the whitening treatment as well.  Upon my final appointment, I couldn't believe the results, they were absolutely amazing, and I am so pleased with the outcome, and this has helped my confidence tremendously. "I was searching for information online when I found the Rockingham House website. I was impressed by the comments of previous patients, one of whom was a friend of mine. I got in touch with her and she assured me that Dr Khan would be able to help me.

For several years my teeth had been falling out because of ageing and problems with my gums. I knew something had to be done as I was finding it increasingly difficult to eat. I dreaded the thought of full dentures and hoped that implants would solve my problem.

I went to see Dr Khan and explained my problem. He listened carefully then did a thorough examination and took lots of photographs. He said he couldn't really recommend implants because of the condition of my jaw. However he suggested appropriate bridgework should solve my problem.

"I was recommended to the Rockingham House practice by my dental surgeon. On going treatment for gum disease was not proving effective ; I was becoming very self-conscious of the impression made by loose teeth and of the unpleasant taste in my mouth which I felt sure was apparent, as odour, to others. Initial consultations included extensive use of photographs prior to recommendations. I was able to gain an impression of what each option would deliver.

I have had some teeth removed to improve the appearance; they have been replaced with an excellent plate which matches well to my own teeth. As I am very nervous the surgeon applied anaesthetic by way of very thin hair like needles which occasioned no pain. I was unaware that the procedure was concluded until I was asked to rinse! My new plate was fitted immediately and was pain free. I have on going treatment on my teeth to ensure that gum disease remains controlled and that I am able to retain the remaining teeth.

The practice staff are courteous and pleasant; consultations occur prior to each treatment and afterwards to ensure I know both what is to be done and the outcome of each treatment. Any products advised are provided by the practice (they even put them in gift bags!).

Speaking as someone who has always feared each dental appointment I can heartily recommend Rockingham House Practice; the element of detailed consultations enables me to feel a measure of control which reduces tension. "Having not visited the dentist in 5 years I decided it was time for a check-up, and Rockingham House dental practice had been recommended to me by a friend. I explained occasionally my gums would bleed a little on brushing and it was noted I had a few deep gum pockets suggesting some mild gum disease. Dr Sharif Khan recommended a deep clean treatment, with Dr Meera Aggarwal, to remove any plaque from the roots of the teeth under local anaesthetic, giving the ideal conditions for healing of gum pockets. The treatment was pain free and my teeth instantly looked and felt much cleaner. The treatment has helped improve the health of my gums, they no longer bleed. In addition, my 6 week review showed significant improvement where by the gum tissues had re- adapted to the tooth surfaces which can help prevent any tooth or bone loss in the future.

"I was recommended to Rockingham house by my dental practice. I had been having problems with one of my front teeth. My dentist had discussed with me that the tooth was badly decayed and if they were to do a root canal it wouldn't be long term so I may have to have a partial denture or implant.  I was very upset at the thought of losing the tooth. On walking into the surgery I was met with the warmest welcome, and then met with Sharif himself, we spoke of the procedure, time periods, costs, but also the possible side effects that may happen as with any invasive surgery. I felt as if I was not only speaking to a dentist, but a consultant in his own right, so up front and professional that I was totally confident in his ability as a surgeon. After the implants were fitted and taking that denture out for the last time was amazing. I am so confident and please with the results that you would not know they were not my own, matching perfectly.

Having been told by my dentist that he was unable to replace the bridge for my front teeth, he recommended that I have a consultation with Dr Khan.  

None the less I decided to go ahead.

Having had a CT scan my bridge work was removed using special forceps which removed it in seconds. The implants were then fitted using keyhole surgery. As promised by Dr Khan no pain due to the use of ‘THE WAND’ an electronic numbing system.

After the final work was completed and I looked in the mirror I couldn’t tell which were the implants and which ones were my teeth, the colours matched perfectly.

Finally after many years I’m able to bite into an apple without fear of breaking my dental work. Thank you for this.

I had become used to my appearance over the years, that's what you do, you blank it out and get on with life but you store up problems and that's what I did. I covered my mouth with my hands when I spoke to people, even family members, simply to hide my embarrassment. I tried not to laugh in public, if I did I quickly covered my mouth. I spent a lot of time with my hand over my mouth, to such an extent I didn't realise I was doing it anymore until someone pointed it out. I couldn't wear a denture as it made me gag, so this was my life. My confidence in social situations was low and even worse in the company of strangers.

I was recommended to visit Rockingham House by my own dentist who knew me well and fully understood the problems I was having with my teeth and wearing dentures, not just physically but mentally as well. She also appreciated that I wouldn't go to just anyone for this treatment and needed someone who was caring and understanding and offered more than a 'simple operation'

From the moment I stepped into Rockingham House it felt right. The very first staff you meet at reception are friendly, professional and welcoming and I felt at ease from the start, something that was vital for me to get over a mental block that had deterred me from having my teeth fixed for well over a decade.

I then met Sharif for the first time and instantly struck up a rapport with someone that clearly cared about his patients. He took me through everything that would happen and put my overactive mind to rest and reassured me that he could give me what I wanted and the end result would be worthwhile. Through every single step of the journey both Sharif and his incredible staff made me feel relaxed, at ease and confident that I was not only doing the right thing but I was in safe hands.

I was a little unimpressed with the temporary bridge I had to wear until my permanent one was made as it was a copy of my original teeth, I worried again about it looking odd and looking like dentures. It was a silly thing to worry about and it was all part of my low confidence. When the new bridge came, the one that I was going to wear forever and I first saw it, I realised even more how silly that was. Even though I needed to become accustomed to my new look it already looked so much better and for the first time in years I could smile without putting my hand over my mouth.

Every single person that knows me and seen the transformation has commented on how great I look now, especially my smile. I never really thought I'd get that back, but here it is and when I look in the mirror now, it actually makes me smile. My lack of confidence has gone and it has returned me to how I was many years ago, very outgoing and uninhibited.

The camera loves me now, well that's what I tell myself and I don't hide from it and I no longer cover anything up. I flash the smile at every opportunity.

I can't explain the turn around in confidence. The lift in self esteem this has given me and only wish I'd had it done a decade ago. I spent way too long feeling miserable with myself.

It may not have been cheap but it was worth every penny. You cannot put a price on what this has given me and I will always be grateful to Sharif and his excellent staff at Rockingham House.

I have had problems with dentists trying to make me some dentures that fit comfortably for 25 years, I had to have the last three of my back teeth extracted in January 2017 and in this time I had become depressed

As I couldn’t get my new dentures to fit my mouth was constantly sore, I had to leave the dentures out when I was in the house myself, my confidence was at an all time low.  I didn’t know what else I could do, so as a last resort I made an appointment to see Sharif.

I attended a free consultation and I wasn’t expecting much hope but he insisted he could improve on the dentures I had, he was understanding and empathic and he realised how distressed it was making me.

I had my first appointment September 2017 and am now the proud owner of a set of dentures that fit and are comfortable, I wear them all the time and I can eat anything and feel 100% better about myself.
